About

I am a Brooklyn based artist, originally from West Virginia. The woodcuts I make are hand-drawn and hand-carved and hand-printed. The letterpress is moveable type, and printed on a Vandercook press. I love the unique characteristics of wood type, and the slight differences between letter forms.  The combination of woodcut and letterpress provides editorial content and graphic impact, while preserving the individuality of the hand that makes the cut.

This series of woodcut and letterpress prints are inspired by the early 20th century tradition of silent sentimentality known as the Language of Flowers. Flowers would say or emphasize what could not be spoken out loud. I have added contemporary, solicitous twists to this tradition.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions about the prints.
